MATERIALS USED IN PRODUCTION OF INTERNAL DOORS

For many centuries door is an integral part of human’s dwelling. At different times door protected people from thieves and malign spirits, it was massive and small, with thousand of locks and without them, simple or embellished with lots of decorative elements. Material was the only thing that was unchanged – wood which was used for doors as early as in Ancient world.

Solid, beautiful, light – not without reason after hundreds of years doors are produced from different species of wood which brings coziness, beauty and elegance in home.

In XVII century another material was used in manufacturing of doors in France and this material is very popular nowadays – glass. It made the doors more elegant and gave the opportunity for designers to implement various ideas and create colorful stained glassworks. Doors with glass look more delicate and fill the room with light.

Later metal and plastics went into use in manufacturing of doors. However, nowadays doors with these materials are randomly found because they can not compete with wood and glass in coziness, comfort and beauty.
